CSU Outreach

We invite undergraduate students from local California State Universities to our campus in conjunction with the seminar series. Students are given tours of the facilities, have meals with current graduate students, meet with current faculy, and attend the seminars given by world-class speakers.

Students are also introduced to graduate school, summer internships, international opportunities, and membership in other diversity focused organizations such as Los Ingenieros and Society for the Advancement of Chicaons/Latinos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS).

Current Universities involved in sending students to the UCSB campus include:

  • Cal Poly Pomona (Dr. Michael Page)
  • CSU Channel Islands (Dr. Philip Hampton & Dr. Cynthia Wyels)
  • CSU Domingez Hills (Dr. Ken Rodriguez)
  • CSU Fullerton (Dr. John Haan)
  • CSU Long Beach (Dr. Li Lijuan)
  • CSU Los Angeles (Dr. Frank Gomez)

For students at these universities each university has a professor contact, listed above, if you are interested in participating in the next outreach on UCSB campus.

If you are at a CSU not yet involved in this outreach and are interested in visiting UCSB as a part of GSDS seminars, please contact our Outreach Director.
